Metatarsalgia (Ball of your Foot) Insole

Need help choosing between prefabricated and custom made,

Do I need prefabricated or custom made insoles?

Our prefabricated orthotics are designed for common foot conditions such as plantar fasciitis, flat feet, and heel pain. They provide excellent support and relief using the same high-quality materials found in our custom line — but without the individualized correction based on your unique foot scan.

For most people, our prefabricated options deliver great comfort and stability right out of the box. For those with more complex biomechanics or uneven alignment, our fully custom orthotics offer precise correction tailored to each foot.

Clinical Indications:
Propulsive phase metatarsalgia, Morton’s foot, general metatarsalgia, Freiberg’s disease

The Metatarsalgia orthotic is specifically engineered to relieve inflammation of the bursa located at the distal ends of the metatarsal bones. This condition is often triggered by repetitive physical activity, and effective treatment involves redistributing pressure away from the metatarsal heads to promote healing and reduce inflammation.

A key feature of this device is a custom forefoot pad modification, which helps balance and evenly distribute plantar pressure across the forefoot. During the propulsion phase of gait, this design offloads pressure from the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th metatarsal heads, shifting it toward the 1st and 5th metatarsals to create a “plantar-graded” alignment of the metatarsophalangeal joints.

To further support forefoot mechanics, a metatarsal bar is incorporated to bolster the necks and shafts of the metatarsals just prior to heel-off. The device includes a comfortable Spenco top cover, a durable polypropylene shell, and an extrinsic crepe rearfoot post for stability. It is designed to fit most standard footwear with removable insoles or sock liners.

Each Metatarsalgia orthotic is fabricated from a positive 3D SCAN model of the patient’s foot.

We are waiting for your questions!

We are always open to you, feel free to communicate with our team.

Are they truly custom-made orthotics?

Yes! Our orthotics are 100% custom-made and manufactured by our own team of fully licensed podiatrists/technicians. We are aware of businesses advertising “custom insoles” and delivering prefabricated inserts. Rest assured, each orthotic we fabricated is tailored and customized for your feet and your feet only!

Break-in Guidelines:

• Start with short wear sessions (15–30 minutes).

• Gradually increase wear time each day.

• Aim to wear them for most of the day within the first 1–2 weeks.

How to Insert Your Insole:

• Remove the original insole from your shoe before inserting your custom foot orthotic.

• If using a half-length orthotic, you may leave the original insole in place and position the orthotic on top.
