Achilles Pain Insole
Clinical Indications:
Achilles tendinitis, Achilles synovitis, Achilles tendinosis, Haglund’s deformity (“pump bump”), retrocalcaneal exostosis

The Achilles Tendinopathy device is specially engineered to relieve pain and inflammation associated with Achilles tendon conditions. Commonly resulting from ankle overuse, Achilles tendinopathy is typically managed by reducing stress on the tendon to promote healing. This device helps decrease tension on the heel cord, alleviating discomfort.

A built-in 3mm heel lift beneath the extrinsic rearfoot post raises the heel in relation to the forefoot, while a deep heel cup stabilizes the calcaneus by controlling inversion and eversion—ensuring optimal foot support and alignment. This conservative, non-invasive approach offers effective pain relief while supporting faster recovery.

The device is constructed with a polypropylene frame and a vinyl top cover extending to the metatarsal heads. It is compatible with standard-width footwear that accommodates removable insoles or sock liners. Each device is custom-fabricated using a positive mold of the patient’s foot and may be modified as needed by the practitioner. Custom adjustments to heel lift and posting may be necessary to address retrocalcaneal bursitis.

Bunion Insole

CLINICAL INDICATION:

Hallux valgus, commonly known as a bunion, affects the metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint—the joint where the big toe meets the foot. Visibly, a bunion appears as a prominent bump on the inner side of the foot at the base of the big toe. This occurs as the big toe gradually shifts inward toward the second toe, pushing the joint out of proper alignment.

Bunions are significantly more common in women, affecting approximately one in three women in the U.S., with 90% of cases occurring in females. While ill-fitting footwear is often cited as a cause, genetic factors and pre-existing structural abnormalities of the foot can also contribute to their development. Bunions are a progressive condition that typically worsen over time without intervention. The goal of the orthotics is to slow down the progression of the bunion deformity and help alleviate pain and strain around the big toe joint.

Clinical Indications:
Cavovarus foot type, plantarflexed first ray, rigid rearfoot

The Cavus High Arch Foot orthotic is designed to alleviate metatarsal pain and reduce excessive supination and foot instability by redistributing plantar pressure and delivering targeted arch support. Pes cavus, commonly referred to as high arches, is among the most suitable conditions for custom orthotic intervention.

This device enhances gait mechanics and reduces forefoot discomfort by promoting even weight distribution across the plantar surface. Rearfoot posting helps correct oversupination, while superior shock absorption is achieved through a full-length Myolite cushioning layer and a thick Spenco top cover.

Designed to fit most standard footwear with removable insoles or sock liners, the Pes Cavus device is fabricated using a positive mold of the patient’s foot and can be further customized by the clinician as needed.

Clinical Indications:
Mild Degenerative joint disease (DJD), arthritis of the first metatarsophalangeal (MPJ) joint

The Hallux Rigidus (BIG TOE ARTHRITIS, MILD) is specifically designed to encourage motion of the first ray and relieve pressure on the first MPJ. Hallux limitus, often developing into hallux rigidus, is characterized by early arthritis-related stiffness and pain in the big toe, particularly during dorsiflexion. To reduce discomfort, a custom orthotic that encourages joint movement is recommended.

This device features custom arch support to minimize pronation, thereby decreasing stress on the big toe joint. A first ray cutout is incorporated to significantly increase mobility of the first ray. For enhanced effectiveness.

Engineered to fit most standard footwear with removable insoles or sock liners, the MILD Hallux Rigidus device is fabricated using a positive 3d scan mold of the patient’s foot and can be modified as needed by the practitioner.

Clinical Indications:
Degenerative joint disease (DJD), arthritis of the first metatarsophalangeal (MPJ) joint

The Hallux Rigidus orthotic is specifically designed to limit motion of the first ray and relieve pressure on the first MPJ. Hallux rigidus, often developing from hallux limitus, is characterized by arthritis-related stiffness and pain in the big toe, particularly during dorsiflexion. To reduce discomfort, a custom orthotic that restricts joint movement is recommended.

This device features custom arch support to minimize pronation, thereby decreasing stress on the first MPJ. A rigid EVA Morton’s extension is incorporated to significantly limit mobility of the first ray. For enhanced effectiveness, the Morton’s extension can be integrated into the orthotic shell, offering greater control and restriction.

Engineered to fit most standard footwear with removable insoles or sock liners, the Hallux Rigidus device is fabricated using a positive 3d scan mold of the patient’s foot and can be modified as needed by the practitioner.

Heel & Arch Pain Insole

Clinical Indications:
Inflamed plantar fascia, equinus, heel pain, policeman’s heel, heel pad syndrome

Plantar fasciitis involves inflammation and micro-tearing of the connective tissue spanning from the calcaneus to the metatarsals. Though common, it can be challenging to manage effectively. The Plantar Fasciitis orthotic is specifically designed to address these symptoms.

This device incorporates a heel lift to reduce tension on the Achilles tendon and plantar fascia, promoting tissue healing by decreasing constant strain. Additionally, a cushioned heel pad absorbs impact forces at the point of inflammation, easing discomfort during heel strike.

Constructed with a durable frame, the device insures midfoot control and prevents hyper pronation by restricting motion at the midfoot (CHOPART) joint level.

For optimal results, this orthotic can be used alongside complementary treatments such as night splints, ice-water soaks, anti-inflammatory medications, and stretching routines. Fabricated from a positive 3D SCAN mold of the patient’s foot, it can be customized by the practitioner as needed. For better results, wear shoes that have a rigid outsole (that won’t bend easily). You do NOT want to wear FLEXIBLE outsole shoes!

Metatarsalgia (Ball of your Foot) Insole

Clinical Indications:
Propulsive phase metatarsalgia, Morton’s foot, general metatarsalgia, Freiberg’s disease

The Metatarsalgia orthotic is specifically engineered to relieve inflammation of the bursa located at the distal ends of the metatarsal bones. This condition is often triggered by repetitive physical activity, and effective treatment involves redistributing pressure away from the metatarsal heads to promote healing and reduce inflammation.

A key feature of this device is a custom forefoot pad modification, which helps balance and evenly distribute plantar pressure across the forefoot. During the propulsion phase of gait, this design offloads pressure from the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th metatarsal heads, shifting it toward the 1st and 5th metatarsals to create a “plantar-graded” alignment of the metatarsophalangeal joints.

To further support forefoot mechanics, a metatarsal bar is incorporated to bolster the necks and shafts of the metatarsals just prior to heel-off. The device includes a comfortable Spenco top cover, a durable polypropylene shell, and an extrinsic crepe rearfoot post for stability. It is designed to fit most standard footwear with removable insoles or sock liners.

Each Metatarsalgia orthotic is fabricated from a positive 3D SCAN model of the patient’s foot.

The  NEUROMA INSOLE features a teardrop-shaped pad positioned on the superior distal surface of the orthotic frame. The pad begins beneath the midshaft of the 3rd metatarsal and extends medially and laterally to support the shafts of the 2nd and 4th metatarsals. It terminates just proximal to the metatarsal heads, helping to offload pressure, relieve forefoot pain, and support soft tissue structures such as the plantar plate and intermetatarsal bursa.
